TL;DR
Trading Architect (Fintech): Design and build software for a low latency trading platform focused on execution algorithms at Fidelity Digital Assets®. This role involves setting technical direction and driving architecture for a digital asset trading platform. Focus on ultra-low latency system design, microservices, and resilient cloud-based services in a regulated financial environment.
Location: Hybrid with onsite presence every other week in a Fidelity office (United States)
Salary: $126,000–255,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Design and build low latency trading systems and execution algorithms.
- Turn requirements into scalable, resilient service designs for the Fidelity Digital Assets® platform.
- Collaborate with chief architect and head of engineering to drive platform architecture.
- Lead and mentor small agile teams in a collaborative environment.
- Develop APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workers, and messaging services.
- Ensure software reliability in unreliable environments and cloud-based deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field with 15+ years of experience.
- Strong expertise in low latency trading systems and ultra-low latency design patterns.
- Experience with Java, kernel bypass technologies, messaging products, WebSocket and FIX protocols.
- Proficient in SQL and knowledge of relational and time series databases.
- Understanding of microservice architecture and cloud deployments.
- Interest and experience with cryptocurrencies.
Nice to have
- Experience with Aeron, Solace, 29West messaging products.
- Knowledge of zero GC patterns in Java.
