Engineering Manager, Mobile

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid with in-office attendance required on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Base salary: $250,000–$375,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Build, mentor, and grow a team of mobile design engineers.
• Define the technical vision for mobile design systems, frameworks, and scalable patterns across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
• Partner with design, product, and engineering leadership to prioritize mobile initiatives.
• Drive mobile-first development practices focused on performance, accessibility, and consistent production quality.
• Oversee the architecture of complex mobile UI components and systems, providing technical guidance and code reviews.
• Balance hands-on technical contribution with people management and architectural decision-making.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience building and scaling high-performing teams.
• Experience creating production frameworks and component systems that scale across products.
• Deep mobile development experience, including mobile web APIs, native development with Swift or Kotlin, React, React Native or similar frameworks, PWAs, mobile design patterns, animations, and gesture interactions.
• Strong communication, mentoring, performance management, and career development skills.
• Ability to work from the Foster City, California office three days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Nice to have

• Active Replit mobile user with experience building or leading mobile design or developer tools teams.
• Interest in AI on mobile devices.
• Contributions to open-source mobile design systems or UI libraries.
