Engineering Manager, Release Validation (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, hire, mentor, and develop engineers working on test infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling.
• Define and execute the multi-quarter strategy for release validation, including faster signals, fewer blockers, better test quality, and lower costs.
• Own distributed regression and workload test frameworks, pre-production environments, and release validation pipelines.
• Improve test health by reducing flaky, non-hermetic, duplicate, and low-value tests across feature teams.
• Improve failure tracing, infrastructure-noise filtering, and triage so that real regressions reach the responsible teams quickly.
• Drive AI-powered failure analysis and automated routing while partnering with Release Engineering and engineering leaders.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers at different career stages.
• Experience building and operating large-scale CI/CD, test infrastructure, or developer productivity platforms for complex distributed systems.
• Strong technical depth for reviewing designs, making architecture trade-offs, and working effectively with senior engineers.
• Knowledge of regression and workload testing, hermeticity, flakiness, coverage trade-offs, and release gating.
• Experience leading cross-team initiatives and influencing without authority, with a data-driven approach to goals and metrics.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
