Software Engineer (Go)

Location: In-office in Austin, Texas, United States, or Lisbon, Portugal

Salary: €54,000–€75,000 annual salary for Portugal-based hires; compensation may vary by work location.

hirify.global operates a large global network that protects and accelerates Internet applications and supports developer platforms such as Workers, Pages, and R2.

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship features and services for the Workers control plane.
• Improve platform performance, availability, scalability, and long-term storage architecture.
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions for foundational platform capabilities.
• Own production reliability, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Partner with Product Managers and customers to turn complex problems into scalable solutions.
• Drive projects from requirements and specifications through implementation, testing, and release, while mentoring interns and junior engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience using Go in production environments.
• Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with metrics and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and familiarity with Kubernetes or similar deployment tools.
• Ability to drive scoped projects independently and use AI coding assistants with judgment to review and verify generated code.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling systems, working on control planes or data planes, or using hirify.global Workers or Pages.
• Product mindset and comfort working with customers and partners.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and RPC.
