Staff Software Engineer, Integration Platform (AI)

Location: Hybrid work in the U.S.; applicants must be located in a state where hirify.global is registered and able to support employment. Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming are currently excluded. Hubs are available in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, and Raleigh.

Base salary: $197,000–$262,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain the integration and data platform supporting external systems, integrations, and expert agents.
• Lead technical decisions across the stack while balancing performance, scalability, maintainability, and developer experience.
• Design and optimize APIs and service patterns for product experiences and third-party integrations.
• Improve database schemas, data models, query performance, observability, and operational reliability.
• Lead engineering-wide initiatives involving testing, tooling, platform quality, customer experience, and productivity.
• Mentor engineers and influence multiple engineering groups through architecture reviews, technical writing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including modern JavaScript and TypeScript development and leadership of large technical initiatives.
• Production experience with Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful services, PostgreSQL, and Temporal.
• Experience with workflows, data platforms, data integrity, reconciliation, resilience, reliability, and real-time data processing.
• Experience with event-driven systems, messaging infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Strong SQL database skills, including schema design and query optimization.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience with enterprise ERP and CRM platforms.
• Experience leading platformization, service architecture, API, financial, or accounting initiatives.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
