Location: Manchester. Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

Salary: £72,702 - £80,780

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of automation solutions using Python and GCP.
• Design and implement scalable systems that connect AI agents with internal tooling.
• Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for process and technology modernisation.
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to incident resolution.
• Contribute to the development of technical strategies and automation frameworks.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to thought leadership across the organisation.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background, with around 5 years experience in Python and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Experience designing and implementing automation solutions in complex environments.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical delivery in ambiguous settings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and orchestration of tooling.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to strategic planning or proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Knowledge of IT security policies and implementation.
• Exposure to knowledge management and performance management systems.
• Experience mentoring or coaching others in technical domains.
