Lead Software Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote; London, United Kingdom

Salary: £75,000–£200,000 per year, based on experience and location. Equity: £50,000–£300,000.

What you will do

• Own projects end to end, from conception through production, and ship quickly.
• Build and scale web applications for clinical users and patients.
• Develop frontend and backend features across the JavaScript and Node.js ecosystem.
• Architect and improve serverless infrastructure on AWS.
• Collaborate with a highly technical team to select effective tools and solve complex product problems.
• Optimise product usability and user experience rather than pursuing arbitrary technical goals.

Requirements

• Expert-level TypeScript and strong experience building type-safe, scalable applications.
• Full-stack expertise in JavaScript and Node.js, with hands-on experience in React, Angular, or Node.js.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and first-principles problem solving.
• Experience architecting on AWS, especially Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudFormation, or a strong ability and willingness to learn serverless infrastructure.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, code extensibility, interface safety, and pragmatic technical debt management.
• A track record of shipping products and solving ambiguous technical challenges from conception to production.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare, personalised medicine, active learning, or artificial intelligence products.
• Experience with Angular, React, Electron, GraphQL, Cognito, Mixpanel, or PostHog.
