Climate Strategist (Climate Solutions)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco; work from the San Francisco office a few days a week

Estimated on-target earnings for San Francisco-based employees: $175,000–$230,000, including base salary and commission. Equity and insurance are also offered.

What you will do

• Advise corporate clients on carbon markets, sustainability strategy, decarbonization pathways, and net-zero commitments.
• Guide clients on carbon credit procurement, market trends, risk mitigation, climate claims, disclosures, and relevant frameworks.
• Develop emissions-reduction scenarios, carbon budgets, business cases, and ROI models for sustainability and carbon-removal investments.
• Design investment-grade carbon and beyond-carbon diligence frameworks for climate projects.
• Act as a climate subject-matter expert for Account Executives and advise buyers on carbon strategy and purchasing pathways.
• Collaborate with go-to-market, policy, and product teams to shape offerings for voluntary and compliance carbon markets.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, carbon markets, or climate advisory, preferably in corporate or consulting environments.
• Deep knowledge of carbon markets, net-zero frameworks, corporate decarbonization, credit quality assessment, and climate finance.
• Experience developing business cases for sustainability investments and carbon credit procurement.
• Ability to translate technical climate concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills and experience in client-facing work, presentations, and thought leadership.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office a few days per week.

• Project development or climate investment experience.
• Expertise in lifecycle assessment, climate risk modeling, or policy.
• Experience productizing services and building recurring revenue models.
