Director, Product Software (Software)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid workplace

Base salary: $354,000–$470,000 per year, excluding RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and potential sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting mobility-as-a-service ecosystem, combining robotics, machine learning, and design.

What you will do

• Develop and execute product strategy for the ride-hailing platform.
• Lead end-to-end development of the ride-hailing app, fleet management backend, operational tools, and in-vehicle experience.
• Drive software engineering and infrastructure automation practices to improve development efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, and fleet operations.
• Build, hire, and inspire a high-performing engineering organization.
• Define product metrics and use data-driven insights to improve the customer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading teams of 100+ people.
• Experience deploying real products and working with complex systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling large software systems in a high-growth environment.
• 5+ years leading large products from inception to delivery.
