Staff Data Scientist (Ai)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $192,000–$260,000 USD per year; additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy machine learning models to detect anomalous activity, fraud, and abuse across Databricks products.
• Analyze the performance and pricing of security-related features and identify opportunities with product and engineering teams.
• Partner with security engineers, Trust and Safety experts, and machine learning engineers to build threat-protection systems and tools.
• Create solutions and frameworks that meet compliance requirements.
• Define requirements, project OKRs, milestones, and progress updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Guide junior data scientists and interns through planning, technical decisions, code reviews, and documentation reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics in high-velocity, high-growth companies.
• Experience deploying data science or machine learning solutions to production.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Proficiency in SQL and a software development language, preferably Python.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems such as Spark.
• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• Experience applying machine learning and data analytics to identify SaaS product misuse and improve compliance.
