Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. Working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Occasional travel for training and project meetings is expected at less than 5% per year.

Salary: $160,600–$175,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain statistical, machine learning, predictive, and AI models.
• Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets using Python, Pandas, and SQL.
• Develop semantic layer architectures, analytical indicators, risk models, and anomaly-detection approaches.
• Build and scale natural language processing solutions, including semantic analysis, OCR, and large language models.
• Translate investigative and business questions into analytical approaches and actionable findings.
• Create dashboards, visualizations, documentation, and presentations while collaborating with data engineers in cloud environments.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Master’s degree, Ph.D., or equivalent advanced degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of applied experience in data science, machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, AI, semantic layer development, NLP, and modern cloud environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English; availability during Eastern Time business hours.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a related technical discipline.
• Experience with data architecture, fraud or program-integrity analytics, fraud indicators, risk scoring, or investigative leads.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Machine Learning, Synapse Analytics, AI Foundry, or AI Search.
• Experience with OCR, semantic similarity, entity resolution, large unstructured datasets, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, or network visualizations.
• Cloud, AI, or machine learning certifications.
