Senior Staff Data Scientist - Mid-Market Product Growth (AI/ML)

Location: Mountain View, California; hybrid work with 3 days per week in the Mountain View office

Salary: $210,500–$284,500 base pay, with potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits

What you will do

• Act as a strategic thought partner to senior Product and Business leaders, shaping mid-market product strategy through customer segmentation, funnel optimization, product adoption, and customer insights.
• Define the measurement architecture, success metrics, and leading indicators for the mid-market product ecosystem.
• Design complex experiments, including A/B/n tests and multi-armed bandits, and apply causal inference methods when traditional A/B testing is limited.
• Develop ML models and LLM applications for personalization, lead scoring, and generative AI product features.
• Identify growth opportunities across acquisition, activation, habit formation, and retention, and quantify their potential impact.
• Create reusable analytical frameworks, mentor data scientists, and supervise a team of 3–5 senior to staff data scientists.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a related field, with measurable strategic and business impact.
• Expert-level SQL and complex data modeling skills, plus advanced practical experience with machine learning, LLMs, and GenAI workflows.
• Proficiency with AI-native data science tools and technologies, including Claude, Cursor, Codex, MCPs, CLIs, and APIs.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, and advanced customer segmentation.
• Strong ability to translate ambiguous business strategies into analytical frameworks and communicate complex concepts to executives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
