Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid with in-office collaboration expected 10+ days per month

Annual base salary: $212,000–$265,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as the data science technical lead across multiple product and business teams, including Payments, Stablecoin, and Custody.
• Define analytics strategy, investment priorities, success criteria, and measurement approaches with product and business leaders.
• Build reusable frameworks for product and network health metrics, causal inference, liquidity and adoption modeling, and forecasting.
• Apply LLMs and agentic workflows to automate routine analysis, scale insight generation, and enable self-service exploration.
• Evaluate growth across customers, corridors, and on-chain activity while identifying causal drivers of adoption and volume.
• Communicate executive-level metrics and mentor data scientists across embedded teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science or quantitative analysis with senior-level impact across multiple teams.
• Technical leadership experience across cross-functional teams, including influence on roadmaps and strategy.
• Experience designing reusable analytics and measurement frameworks that scale across products.
• Hands-on experience applying AI to analytics workflows, including agentic analysis, AI-assisted insight generation, or natural-language data interfaces.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and statistical modeling in a product environment.
• Expertise in Python or R, fluency in SQL, and experience with large-scale data technologies such as Databricks and Airflow.

Nice to have

• Experience with fintech, payments, crypto, or blockchain data.
• Experience with dbt.
• Advanced degree such as an MS or PhD in a quantitative field.
• Exceptional communication skills for translating technical analysis into executive-ready narratives.
