Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required

What you will do

• Analyze large, multi-source datasets using regression, probability, hypothesis testing, and time-series methods.
• Develop, validate, and deploy distributed machine learning models with Apache Spark and Spark MLlib.
• Query and optimize lakehouse data using Athena, Trino, and Spark SQL, including partitioning and file-layout optimization.
• Use LLM-assisted and agentic AI tools for data exploration while validating results against statistical baselines.
• Define operational metrics and build dashboards and data products with Grafana or comparable tools.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and AI Engineers to define data requirements and productionize models.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or Statistical Modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong statistical foundation covering regression, probability, hypothesis testing, and time-series analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Spark MLlib, Python, SQL, distributed SQL engines, and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with LLM-assisted analytical workflows, Grafana or comparable visualization tools, and independent validation of generated results.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with S3, EMR, Athena, and Glue.
• Apache Airflow, Kubernetes-based data science workflows, or Bayesian methods experience.
• Experience in risk scoring, security analytics, vulnerability analytics, DoD, or federal government analytics.
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
