Technical Architect (Azure)

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of implementation projects and guide development teams.
• Define architecture across custom business applications and off-the-shelf products, aligning designs with enterprise standards.
• Develop reusable application standards, patterns, quality profiles, coding and configuration standards, and unit-testing practices.
• Review high-level designs and code, enforce best practices, and drive performance testing.
• Evaluate technologies, support requirements gathering, and recommend solution strategies based on technical, business, and financial considerations.
• Collaborate with development teams on Agile and DevSecOps adoption, architecture documentation, and the reuse of platforms, services, APIs, and other architecture assets.

Requirements

• Strong project delivery background, ideally including 7 years of hands-on experience in system design, systems integration, or software development as a senior developer or architect.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud architecture styles and design patterns.
• Experience working in a fast-paced growth organisation and within a global delivery model with a major IT services organisation.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications using Azure PaaS capabilities, including App Service Plans, Key Vault, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, containers, AKS, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
• Experience with enterprise integration technologies, including Azure API Management, Logic Apps, and Service Bus.
• Experience with Azure governance and best practices, including role-based access control, networking architectures, and cost-management controls.
• Strong knowledge of the full software development and product life cycle, DevOps principles and patterns, UML, and Agile development practices.
• Deep technical knowledge of web-based, service-based, enterprise application, and cloud architectures, including the ability to manage expectations while balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
