Technical Architect (Cloud)

Location: Remote or hybrid in the United Kingdom, subject to the successful applicant’s location and company policy.

What you will do

• Produce technical architecture designs for corporate platforms and customer solutions across on-premise, data centre, and public cloud environments.
• Evaluate architecture options and make evidence-based recommendations balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support delivery teams with implementation, knowledge transfer, and hands-on technical assistance.
• Participate in architecture peer reviews and present designs to the Technical Assurance Board.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and investigate technologies for controlled adoption.
• Collaborate with Security Architects and monitor emerging platforms and industry trends.

Requirements

• Experience as a Technical Architect with strong infrastructure, platform, or cloud experience, or as a senior engineer ready to move into a formal architecture role.
• Proven experience producing technical architecture designs.
• Strong understanding of compute, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to balance delivery pressures with design quality and long-term sustainability.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the United Kingdom is required; documentary evidence will be required.
• Current SC-level or higher national security vetting, NPPV Level 3, or the ability to gain Enhanced Security Clearance in addition to BPSS is required.
• Offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references, and occupational health checks; a DBS check may also be required.

Nice to have

• Experience working within the UK public sector.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or OCI, as well as server virtualization, networking, and storage technologies.
