Senior Cloud Architect – T-Cloud (m/f/d)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid remote/on-site work model with flexible working hours.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end T-Cloud Public architectures covering compute, networking, storage, identity, security, resilience, observability, and governance.
• Translate customer business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, production-ready target architectures.
• Lead customer workshops, discovery sessions, architecture discussions, assessments, proofs of concept, pilots, and technical validations.
• Design landing zones, cloud foundations, hybrid cloud architectures, and migration or modernization approaches.
• Support proposals, RFPs/RFIs, implementation, and transition to operations while guiding cloud engineers and delivery teams.
• Develop reusable architectures and best practices, identify risks and trade-offs, collaborate internationally, and mentor architects and engineers.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience as a Cloud Architect, Solution Architect, or Senior Cloud Engineer designing and delivering enterprise cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of compute, networking, storage, IAM, security, high availability, backup and disaster recovery, monitoring and observability, and cloud governance.
• Strong understanding of OpenStack-based cloud environments and enterprise IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Experience with cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancing, VPNs, private connectivity, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Good understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM, encryption, security policies, and network security.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable architectures and producing clear architecture documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer-facing, consulting, and technical discussion skills; ability to work across distributed international teams.
• Fluent English and Spanish required. Catalan is an advantage.

Nice to have

• T-Cloud Public or Open Telekom Cloud certifications and OpenStack certification or significant hands-on OpenStack experience.
• Cloud architecture certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments, landing zones, governance frameworks, enterprise migration, and application modernization.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Git-based workflows, modern DevOps toolchains, and regulated or public-sector environments with demanding security, compliance, and data sovereignty requirements.
