Senior Design Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Architect design systems, tokens and components that serve as the foundation for AI-generated interfaces.
• Design prompt libraries, patterns and agent workflows that turn design intent into production-ready UI.
• Design and prototype real interfaces in Figma and production front-end code using React and TypeScript.
• Define production-readiness criteria, design-to-code fidelity benchmarks, regression safeguards and evaluation methods for AI-generated UI.
• Drive adoption and continuous evolution of AI-native workflows across the design organisation in collaboration with Engineering and Product.
• Prototype adaptive, AI-generated interfaces as product capabilities and create playbooks and enablement materials for the wider design organisation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of combined experience in product design and front-end engineering on complex products.
• Ability to move fluidly between design and code, design interfaces independently, build them and use AI tools to accelerate delivery.
• Strong taste for layout, typography, interaction, motion and polished interface design.
• Comfortable writing TypeScript and React, including HTML, CSS and animation.
• Experience building or extending design systems used by other people.
• Current practical use of AI design and coding tools, with interest in shaping new tools.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to set standards followed by others.
