Senior User Experience Designer (AI)

Location: Ireland; flexible work options include hybrid schedules, work-from-home flexibility, and onsite collaboration in the Galway office.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end product design process from discovery and problem definition through prototyping, testing, developer hand-off, and release.
• Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions, partner with UX research, and apply research findings and product data to product direction.
• Use AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to prototype, iterate, generate interactive experiences, and improve design practice.
• Write intentional prompts, review AI-generated code for UX integrity, inspect technical output, and communicate findings to engineers.
• Create high-fidelity designs, specifications, and prototypes covering states, responsiveness, accessibility, and edge cases; support engineering, QA, and release.
• Contribute to scalable enterprise design systems, apply inclusive design, mentor mid-level and associate designers, and collaborate with product managers and engineers.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in user experience or product design, including ownership of the full product design lifecycle from discovery through developer hand-off and release support.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of Figma and low-fidelity collaboration tools such as Miro or FigJam.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for prototyping or design work, with the ability to critically assess their output.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; comfort using browser Developer Tools and reviewing AI-generated code for mistakes.
• Experience working with and contributing to design systems, plus familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
• Experience applying usability findings, customer feedback, and product data to design decisions and working alongside a dedicated UX research team; hands-on research expertise is not required.
• Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain design rationale to different audiences.
• Ability to work independently through moderate ambiguity, escalate critical issues proactively, mentor designers, and contribute to design reviews and sprint planning.

Nice to have

• Comfort with terminals and local development environments, including CLI navigation, basic commands, local development servers, Vite, or Next.js.
• Experience using Git and Bitbucket, including branches, commits, diffs, pull requests, and small UI changes through pull requests.
• Experience designing enterprise-level applications, services, or platforms, especially for support or call centres.
