Strategic Finance Analyst

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $107,500–$150,500 USD base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own the recurring financial engine, including operating model refreshes, cash flow forecasts, budget tracking, and monthly reporting.
• Use AI tools to automate finance workflows and improve forecasting, reporting, models, data pipelines, and analytical tools.
• Support partnerships, M&A, and fundraising through target screening, diligence, deal and valuation modeling, investor materials, and cap table analysis.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and production teams to convert operational data into financial insight.
• Help build the Strategic Finance function from the ground up while supporting major financial decisions.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, venture-backed startups, or a similar high-performance environment; exceptional new graduates with relevant internship experience may be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, including three-statement fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to automate or accelerate analytical work.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ownership of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to rapidly iterate, adapt, and absorb new information.
• Strong sense of mission and genuine interest in defense, hardware, and manufacturing.

Nice to have

• Experience with live M&A or financing transactions.
• Experience building AI agents, workflow automations, or light scripts using Python or SQL.
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP data.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or hardware companies.
• Experience with capital markets.
