Senior Backend Developer (Python)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden — hybrid; support for customers in US hours is expected.

Salary: SEK 82,500–97,500 per month, plus equity options depending on the offer.

hirify.global builds an AI tax preparer used by accounting firms to automate tax preparation workflows, including computation, document processing, planning, and review.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services for AI tax preparation, planning, and review products.
• Develop Python services for tax computation, document processing, and agentic workflows at scale.
• Own backend architecture, APIs, data models, and integrations with tax software used by accounting firms.
• Build reliable data pipelines for documents, tax returns, and evidence during peak tax-season workloads.
• Make LLM-powered pipelines reliable, observable, and accurate in production.
• Improve systems through metrics, technical decisions, code reviews, pairing, and practical collaboration.

Requirements

• Deep Python experience designing, building, and operating production services and APIs at scale.
• Strong understanding of agent-first development, including daily use of coding agents and control of LLM-driven workflows.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data modeling, queues, and related failure modes.
• Strong React and TypeScript skills, including the ability to work beyond backend-only systems.
• Experience owning cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and/or Azure.
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete data, take ownership, and work collaboratively across product, engineering, and tax.

Nice to have

• Experience in fast-paced startups or regulated industries.
• Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 and supporting real users in production.
