Network Technician

Location: 5218 Patrick Road, Verona, NY, USA; onsite position with 24/7 on-call flexibility.

Salary: $56,000–$70,000 per year, paid weekly.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN and WAN connectivity for users and end devices.
• Create network cables and document physical and logical connections.
• Install and configure switches, servers, wireless devices, and other network hardware.
• Review cabling requirements and verify physical connectivity for installations.
• Service malfunctioning network equipment and support updates and maintenance of network equipment and patch closets under supervisor guidance.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, departmental policies, and procedural changes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and/or at least three years of equivalent experience in an IT environment.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, Internet Protocol, network protocols, routing, remote access, cabling systems, wiring topologies, and security.
• Experience with operating system technologies such as Microsoft, NetWare, AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Mac.
• Ability to work with operating system, network, and hardware technologies.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work independently or as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and project a professional, positive, calm demeanor.
• Flexible availability and willingness to be on call 24/7.

Nice to have

• Experience with gaming and/or hospitality systems.
• CCNA certification or a technical equivalent in a related discipline.
• Experience with Extreme or Avaya networking, SPBm, and enterprise wireless solutions.
• Certification and/or experience with Microsoft, NetWare, AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Mac operating systems.
