Network / Senior Network Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA, US; hybrid schedule with onsite and remote work, after-hours support, occasional travel, and scheduled on-call coverage.

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 annually, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Administer enterprise networks, including switches, routers, LAN, WAN, VPN, remote connectivity, and network security technologies.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, technology refreshes, and emerging technology evaluations.
• Administer virtualized server environments, Windows and Linux systems, enterprise server hardware, SAN storage, DNS, web services, remote access platforms, and FTP.
• Monitor performance, capacity, uptime, infrastructure health, assets, licensing, inventories, and technical documentation.
• Serve as an escalation point, collaborate with vendors and technical and non-technical teams, and support procurement and implementation projects.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, automation, and scheduled after-hours support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is also considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise networking and infrastructure technologies.
• Experience administering both Windows and Linux server environments.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, and enterprise network architecture.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual networking concepts.
• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms, including SAN environments.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting large-scale environments with 300+ servers.
• Knowledge of storage replication, encryption, and data protection methodologies.
• Exposure to voice and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience with disaster recovery exercises and business continuity planning.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, scripting, or operational efficiency initiatives.
• CCNA, MCSE, or comparable networking, systems, or infrastructure certifications.
