Fund Accounting Supervisor (Private Markets)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Prepare and supervise private markets capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, net activity allocations, investor notices, and investor-level calculations.
• Validate client instructions, allocation workings, supporting calculations, system postings, notices, and client packages against governing documents, client instructions, templates, and service levels.
• Calculate and review carried interest, waterfall allocations, management fee impacts, equalization, and other investor-level adjustments.
• Allocate daily work, set priorities, monitor workflows and approvals, and ensure deadlines, controls, audit trails, and supporting evidence are maintained.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve queries, variances, data issues, incomplete instructions, delayed approvals, and potential SLA breaches.
• Support onboarding of new funds and provide day-to-day guidance, training, and technical support to team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience in private equity fund accounting, private markets operations, investor services, or fund administration, including hands-on preparation, deliverable review, and coordination of daily team activities.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing capital calls, distributions, investor notices, capital account activity, and investor-level allocations, including guiding others and resolving processing exceptions.
• Strong knowledge of private markets fund structures, governing documents, limited partnership agreements, investor commitments, service-level requirements, and related operational controls.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, structured calculation templates, large data sets, workpapers, and investigation of calculation differences.
• Experience with fund accounting and workflow platforms for transaction preparation and posting, processing monitoring, team review, and approval evidence maintenance.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Investran, Yardi, Appian, or similar fund accounting and workflow systems.
