Associate, Structuring (Tax/Preferred Equity)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; optional offices in Washington, DC, New York City, and San Francisco.

Compensation: $150,000s–$200,000s annually, depending on experience and revenue scope, excluding equity value.

What you will do

• Screen and underwrite new opportunities, including pre-pricing reviews and financial modeling for tax, hybrid, and preferred equity transactions.
• Prepare Investment Committee materials covering transaction economics, sensitivities, and risk analyses.
• Support transactions from intake to closing while analyzing sponsor financials, project contracts, and diligence materials.
• Use technology and AI-enabled tools to improve modeling, diligence, reporting, and tax equity workflows.
• Standardize models, IC memos, and term sheets and contribute to platform initiatives and tech-enabled financing products.
• Support limited external interactions with developers, investors, and advisors, as well as portfolio monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, or a closely related field.
• Exposure to tax equity, project finance, or other structured renewable energy transactions.
• Strong financial modeling and structuring skills, including core valuation and return concepts.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort building and navigating complex financial models.
• Experience preparing transaction materials and conducting due diligence.
• Familiarity with partnership flip, T-flip, hybrid, and preferred equity structures, including allocations, capital accounts, and flip mechanics.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort adopting new technology platforms and integrating AI tools into daily workflows.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63, or willingness to obtain them under hirify.global’s broker-dealer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• MBA or MS.
• VBA or Python skills.
• Exposure to IRS requirements, safe harbor tests, or recapture provisions.
• Transaction-focused experience with client interaction responsibility.
