Cloud (Senior) Engineer / Architect

Location: Cologne, Germany, with flexible working models and the option to work from home; customer consulting takes place remotely and on site.

What you will do

• Analyze and design modern cloud architectures and tailored hybrid-cloud solutions for customers.
• Assess existing application landscapes, design cloud migration approaches, and implement them.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and microservices with project teams.
• Use Infrastructure as Code to support secure, stable, and compliant IT infrastructure.
• Manage build, staging, deployment, and release processes independently.
• Consult customers remotely and on site.

Requirements

• Completed degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable IT qualification, with 3–5 years of professional experience.
• Strong expertise in cloud development and architecture, including microservices based on Kubernetes or OpenShift, networking, and storage for hybrid and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD, and tools such as GitHub, GitLab, CircleCI, and Tekton.
• Software engineering experience with Java or Kotlin and frameworks such as Quarkus, Spring Boot, or Micronaut; familiarity with Kafka.
• Experience with scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Linux/Bash, and Python.
• High quality awareness, a hands-on approach, initiative, and willingness to take responsibility.
• Clear communication and confident presentation skills.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English, at least C1 in both languages.
• Enjoyment of teamwork and interest in developing technologies and methodologies.
