Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer

Location: On-site in Munich, Germany, with occasional visits to a second site.

hirify.global builds spatial intelligence and autonomy software for unmanned systems, combining 3D computer vision, state estimation, and AI for autonomous platforms, including defence applications.

What you will do

• Own infrastructure for software distribution, device provisioning, networks, compute clusters, and CI, excluding cybersecurity.
• Unify over-the-air updates across Jetson, NXP, and other edge platforms.
• Provision and maintain Linux-based edge devices, workstations, and ground systems, including ARM64 platforms.
• Build reproducible container images, deployments, device configuration, release workflows, recovery procedures, and Bash/Python tooling.
• Design and troubleshoot routing, SSH, VPNs, firewalls, remote access, and constrained field links.
• Improve monitoring, service availability, operational documentation, and infrastructure standards while supporting firmware, robotics, computer vision, and test teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Around five years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or Linux systems engineering, ideally in a small IT or platform team, with evidence of systems built and operated.
• Experience distributing and updating software across large fleets of laptops, servers, or embedded systems.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, plus reliable Bash and Python automation.
• Ability to debug IP networks end to end, including routing, DNS, SSH, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with Docker and container deployment.
• Fluent English and eligibility to work on defence-related projects, including obtaining relevant security clearance where required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Embedded Linux on NVIDIA Jetson or NXP, Yocto/BSP, flashing, or hardware bring-up.
• GPU compute clusters, Slurm or Kubernetes, and self-hosted GitHub Actions runners.
• Infrastructure automation or observability with Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• ROS 2/DDS, MAVLink, or field robotics experience.
• Participation in technical student groups or societies during university.
