System Engineer (Azure/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Maintain and continuously improve Azure cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure, including AKS, container platforms, ingress, networking, storage, and related services.
• Participate in architecture and design sessions for cloud, infrastructure, Kubernetes, and DevOps platforms.
• Resolve critical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support platform lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, monitoring, and automation.
• Build secure, scalable, repeatable infrastructure environments with infrastructure and application teams.
• Maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code and improve automation, standardization, CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, and GitOps practices.
• Support application deployments, troubleshooting, technical standards, operational procedures, and platform documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical experience in system engineering, infrastructure administration, cloud engineering, DevOps, and/or support of business-critical systems.
• In-depth expertise with container-based infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes Service or on-premises Kubernetes platforms.
• Exceptional Terraform and Infrastructure as Code knowledge, plus proficiency in Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, modern DevOps practices, artifact management, and source control tools including Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, container registries, ingress controllers, networking, storage, and application deployment concepts; solid experience with Rancher.
• Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure, monitoring and log analysis, infrastructure performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting through root cause.
• Experience managing Windows and Linux Server environments, with knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and GitOps methodologies; strong security awareness and experience handling security vulnerabilities.
• Ability to align technical solutions with organizational standards and collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, security, and project teams.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• German or additional language skills.
