Content Creator (Broadcast & Digital News)

Location: Rochester, NY, United States; onsite at 201 Humboldt St

Salary: $17.79–$19.23 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills.

hirify.global produces and distributes local and national news, sports, and entertainment content across television and digital platforms.

What you will do

• Shoot, edit, and deliver video for newscasts, websites, mobile apps, streaming platforms, and social media.
• Gather, develop, and contribute story ideas for breaking news and enterprise coverage.
• Create vertical, mobile-first, and social-first content and publish it quickly across linear, digital, and social platforms.
• Conduct field interviews and operate mobile journalism equipment, newsroom systems, and live transmission technology such as TVU or LiveU.
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, and digital teams on consistent multi-platform storytelling.
• Ensure content meets Nexstar standards and complies with FCC and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, photography, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in news photography, editing, and multi-platform content creation.
• Experience with mobile devices, OSMO-style equipment, broadcast and digital editing systems, vertical video, and social-first storytelling.
• Strong understanding of digital publishing, social media platforms, audience engagement, and platform-specific content strategies.
• Ability to work independently and own content from gathering through distribution.
• Excellent storytelling, communication, organizational, and time-management skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and breaking-news situations.
