Multimedia Journalist (Spanish-Language News)

What you will do

• Identify and pitch angles for major daily news stories and follow developments.
• Produce compelling, contextual stories for television, social media, and streaming.
• Shoot and edit video, use creative production techniques, and incorporate graphics, viewer media, and virtual interviews.
• Deliver live and recorded news accurately, authentically, and engagingly.
• Build community contacts and sources while creating digital and social content and engaging viewers.
• Follow NBC News legal and standards guidelines, including editorial and journalistic requirements.

Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Spanish-language storytelling, on-air presentation, live reporting, writing, research, and journalistic communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in newsgathering and/or news production.
• B.A. degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Must be willing to work full time onsite at the station’s Miramar location.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules, including overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, and handle high-risk emergency situations including hurricanes.
• Must be willing to complete a drug test and background investigation and be at least 18 years old.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
• Ability to handle breaking news, changing events, multiple projects, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, libel and slander laws, and applicable FCC rules.
