Quality Manager in Projects (Power Transmission and Distribution)

Location: Hybrid (Remote/Office) in Raleigh, North Carolina; Orlando, Florida; Houston, Texas; or Charlotte, North Carolina. Travel to project sites, customer locations, factories, and suppliers may be required up to 15–20%.

What you will do

• Lead project quality management from contract review and tender handover through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Develop and maintain risk-based Project Quality Plans covering customer, contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Plan and coordinate quality gates, audits, inspections, test plans, hold and witness points, acceptance criteria, and milestone readiness reviews.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor quality, nonconformances, deviations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and escalation of critical issues.
• Advise project leadership on quality risks, cost of poor quality, schedule impacts, resources, preventive actions, and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain project quality records and documentation while promoting right-first-time quality through coaching and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of quality management experience supporting complex EPC, power transmission and distribution, substation, construction, commissioning, or similar industrial projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, project quality planning, auditing, inspections and testing, supplier quality, nonconformance management, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret contracts, customer specifications, technical standards, drawings, and project documentation and translate requirements into practical quality controls.
• Strong communication, customer orientation, problem-solving, and influencing skills across project management, engineering, procurement, suppliers, contractors, and site teams.
• Experience with digital quality systems, dashboards, document and configuration control, and performance reporting.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

• ASQ CQE/CMQ-OE, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
