Enterprise Quality Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Lorton, Virginia, United States; onsite leadership for the Lorton operation

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead enterprise quality compliance, audit readiness, and assessments for AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI, DCMA, customer, and other applicable requirements.
• Coordinate audit preparation and execution, including process-owner engagement, objective evidence, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up.
• Maintain and mature the Enterprise Quality Management System and support internal audits.
• Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and leadership reporting while identifying trends, systemic issues, and emerging risks.
• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement across Quality, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Provide senior quality leadership to prototype, development, and low-volume production programs, including supplier and product quality activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, quality management, manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical environment.
• Experience leading quality activities across multiple programs or organizational functions.
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience supporting or leading external and internal audits and corrective action activities.
• Experience with root cause analysis, quality metrics, continuous improvement, and implementation of customer and contractual requirements.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and/or Supply Chain.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CMMI and/or DCMA assessments.
• Aerospace, defense, government contracting, or other highly regulated industry experience.
• Enterprise Quality Management Systems and certification management experience.
• AS9102 First Article Inspection experience.
• Experience with quality dashboards and executive reporting.
• Experience with prototype, development, NPI, or low-volume manufacturing environments.
• Internal or Lead Auditor training or certification.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings, configuration management, and manufacturing processes.
