Software Engineer, Growth (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City, with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Base salary: $272,000–$320,000 per year for roles based in San Francisco or New York City; compensation may vary by location, scope, complexity, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

• Build technical foundations that help the broader engineering team and coding agents experiment, build, and ship more.
• Set technical and product vision, align with engineering and cross-functional teams, and clarify the roadmap.
• Deliver experiments end to end, from ideation through analysis, balancing product and business goals.
• Study customer journeys and use data, qualitative research, and product intuition to identify activation and engagement opportunities.
• Mentor engineers across experience levels and help raise the quality of technical and product decisions.

Requirements

• Experience in Growth Engineering at another company.
• Experience defining success criteria, running A/B tests, and turning experiment results into decisions.
• Ability to identify high-leverage opportunities through growth data, customer research, and codebase analysis, then build alignment around priorities.
• Ability to build fast, polished web experiences with React and modern web technologies that remain reliable as usage grows.
• Experience building AI systems and coding-agent workflows with effective guardrails, treating the system as the deliverable and improving it continuously.
• Experience mentoring engineers of different tenures and guiding technical designs.
• Pragmatic, impact-oriented approach to balancing craft, speed, and business results.
• Strong consideration of user impact and responsibility when building products.

Nice to have

• Strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, or other non-technical teams.
• Knowledge of the work of computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay.
