Software Engineer, AI Developer Productivity (AI)

Location: Union Square, New York City, USA; most roles require in-person work at the NYC headquarters.

Salary: $175K–$300K plus equity.

hirify.global is a creative workspace for generating, editing, and designing video, supported by AI video models, multimodal agents, a video rendering engine, and developer APIs through Tesseract.

What you will do

• Ship features across video creation software, the video rendering engine, and the developer platform while identifying development-system bottlenecks.
• Build developer productivity tools, agents, and workflows that improve how engineers ship software.
• Rebuild CI/CD for 100x the change volume using incremental builds, test selection, flaky-test detection and quarantine, merge queues, and preview environments.
• Make deployments safe through progressive rollouts, canary analysis, feature flags, automatic rollback, and early detection of bad changes.
• Build secure environments and tooling for coding agents, including sandboxes, ephemeral stacks, short-lived credentials, audit logs, and prompt-injection guardrails.
• Develop AI code-review and continuous penetration-testing pipelines, integrating policy checks, security scanning, vulnerability triage, and automatically generated fix pull requests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building backend or full-stack software, with a track record of shipping high-impact products or systems end-to-end.
• Strong product sense and experience building products or systems that users value.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, or security, with willingness to go deep.
• Extensive use of coding agents in current work and informed opinions about their failure modes.
• Strong security instincts, including assessing how systems could be attacked during development.
• A practical, measurement-driven approach focused on shipping effective solutions quickly.
• Comfort owning build, deployment, review, and security together, working across layers and defining roadmaps without an existing playbook.
• Interest in staying close to product, shipping to production weekly, and using firsthand experience to guide infrastructure improvements.
• Currently hiring engineers operating at senior or staff+ scope.

Nice to have

• Product engineering experience with build, deployment, or security problems.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or productivity tooling at a fast-growing startup.
• Offensive security experience such as penetration testing, red-teaming, bug bounties, or CTFs.
• Experience shipping LLM agents or evaluations in production.
• Experience with merge queues, monorepo tooling, or test-impact analysis.
• Startup founder or early-engineer experience.
