Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based in the United States or Canada; listed locations include Seattle, San Francisco, and Mountain View. hirify.global can hire in countries where it has a legal entity.

Base salary: US$149,400–$235,000 annually across Zones C–A; Canada CA$144,900–CA$189,175 annually.

What you will do

• Own complex Confluence AI features from technical design and implementation through launch and continuous improvement.
• Build cohesive experiences across frontend interfaces, backend services, and AI integrations.
• Apply generative AI, retrieval, agents, evaluation, grounding, orchestration, and safeguards to improve AI quality.
• Develop automated evaluations, representative test datasets, monitoring, and feedback loops to prevent regressions and diagnose issues.
• Instrument features and run experiments to measure quality, activation, retention, engagement, and customer value.
• Partner with product, design, analytics, machine learning, platform, and engineering teams while mentoring engineers and improving delivery practices.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience with the ability to own complex features independently.
• Ability to contribute across frontend, backend, and AI integration boundaries.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable, reliable software that meets performance, security, accessibility, and cost requirements.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems, use prototypes and data to guide decisions, and balance customer impact, complexity, risk, and cost.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and experiment results clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, machine learning teams, and platform engineers.
