Senior Associate, Alternative Investments

Annual base salary: $123,400–$203,600

What you will do

• Manage investment processes from origination and due diligence through investment recommendations and legal documentation closing.
• Monitor individual funds, sub-strategies, portfolio performance, and investment manager developments.
• Meet prospective and existing investment managers and attend annual manager meetings.
• Support due diligence for co-investment opportunities.
• Analyze global capital markets and macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions for portfolio opportunities and risks.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts while evaluating asset-class, regulatory, political, legal, valuation, and performance factors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of institutional investment management experience; 7+ years in alternative investments is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• MBA or MS in a relevant field is preferred.
• Experience investing across asset classes, especially hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital.
• Ability to conduct investment research with minimal direction and communicate and defend investment recommendations.
• Knowledge of valuation, accounting methodologies, capital allocation, quantitative techniques, risk management, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical, attention-to-detail, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience with investment analytics tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, BARRA, or Thomson-Reuters.
• Experience using artificial intelligence for data analysis and investment presentations; experience with FrontInvest or comparable alternative-assets accounting and reporting software.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• CFA or CAIA designation.
