Software Integration Engineer 3 (On-Call) - Linux/Bash/Python/Docker/Kubernetes/Helm/Grafana/Jira

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD; U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph are required.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and provide operational support for the Platform-as-a-Service component of the CASA Compute Environment.
• Operate secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, highly available Kubernetes clusters within a Linux-based infrastructure.
• Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software in heterogeneous operating system environments.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads involving ingress, performance, networking, storage, and related platform issues.
• Maintain Helm charts and apply infrastructure-as-code practices using automation tools including Ansible.
• Monitor platform health and performance with tools such as Prometheus and Grafana while collaborating through Git-based workflows.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph and be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus at least eight years of demonstrable experience; five years of full-time directly related Computer Science work may substitute for the degree, while eight years of demonstrable experience remains required.
• An industry-recognized professional certification defined in the TT0s may substitute for one year of experience; a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
• Experience with the Linux CLI and Linux tool suite.
• Experience developing Bash and Python scripts.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• Demonstrated experience administering and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and resolving workload issues involving ingress, performance, networking, storage, and related areas.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible; experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm charts.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and with Git for source control, branching strategies, and team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in a DevOps environment using Agile principles and methodologies.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, Python application development including REST services and microservices.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
