DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) - 30968

Location: Hybrid role requiring a customer onsite rotating schedule during regular business hours in Hanover or Columbia, Maryland, with some work from home. U.S. Citizenship and an active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $137,510–$180,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, rapidly scalable services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into operational infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain high availability.
• Improve infrastructure tools and processes while evaluating relevant technologies and trends.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor's degree; or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master's degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform.
• Experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda, and their use in infrastructure deployment and management.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible, plus application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go and operate comfortably in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, required.
• Ability to support a customer onsite rotating schedule in Hanover or Columbia, Maryland, during regular business hours; schedule flexibility is required.

Nice to have

• Linux system administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience with or familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
• Experience with or familiarity with K9s and AWS CLI.
