DevOps Engineer - $20K Sign On Bonus - 30971 (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: On-site in Augusta, Georgia, United States, at a customer site 5 days per week. U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $143,507–$205,000 per year. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available if hired as an hirify.global employee.

What you will do

• Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Automate deployments and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, rapidly scalable services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure, including application, container, and operating-system deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
• Integrate applications into operational infrastructure in close collaboration with development teams.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain high availability.
• Continuously improve infrastructure tools, processes, performance, and reliability.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• 15+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a related bachelor’s degree; or 13 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent with 19 years of relevant experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform, and AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
• Expert-level experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and with deployment, scaling, and management of applications, containers, and operating systems.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go and operate comfortably in a terminal-based environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain one before starting.
• Must work on the customer site in Augusta, Georgia, 5 days per week; flexibility is required for schedule changes.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, K9s, AWS CLI, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience with or familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
