Software Integration Engineer 4 (Linux/Bash/Python/VMware/Ansible/Docker/GitLab)

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD; U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph are required.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Test, evaluate, integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software in heterogeneous operating system environments.
• Integrate and evaluate HPC systems and administer related software and infrastructure.
• Develop Bash and Python scripts and automate infrastructure using IaC principles, Salt, and Ansible.
• Troubleshoot HPC software stack, system, and hardware issues using rigorous root-cause analysis.
• Support HPC resource management, job scheduling, monitoring, shared file systems, high-speed interconnects, acceleration technologies, and benchmarking tools.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus at least 10 years of demonstrable experience integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software; five years of full-time directly related Computer Science work may substitute for the degree.
• An industry-recognized professional certification may substitute for one year of experience; a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
• Experience with the Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Extensive recent experience using Bash and Python to develop scripts.
• Solid understanding of Slurm resource management and job scheduling.
• Experience integrating, evaluating, administering, and troubleshooting HPC systems, including software stack and hardware issues.
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible.
• Familiarity with HPC shared file systems including Lustre, GPFS, and Panasas; monitoring tools including Ganglia and Nagios; acceleration technologies including GPU, FPGA, and ASIC; and high-speed interconnects including InfiniBand and Slingshot.
• Familiarity with open-source, industry-standard HPC benchmark tooling and the ability to diagnose root causes and identify mitigation or solution paths analytically.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience supporting large-scale HPC systems and customers.
