Instructional Designer and Facilitator (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Rio Rancho, NM, or Torrance, CA, United States; onsite manufacturing environment.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain instructor-led, eLearning, blended-learning, and on-the-job training programs.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, safety, HR, and other subject matter experts to identify needs and create technical learning solutions.
• Build competency-based learning paths, qualifications, assessments, certification programs, presentations, job aids, videos, knowledge checks, and interactive content.
• Maintain training content in 360Learning, monitor learner progress and completion, and analyze performance data to improve effectiveness.
• Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, hands-on, workshop, and practical-demonstration sessions across departments.
• Support onboarding, train-the-trainer programs, compliance training, and alignment with AS9100, OSHA, export compliance, cybersecurity, engineering changes, and company procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, Human Performance, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing instructor-led and/or eLearning training programs.
• Experience conducting learning needs analyses, developing measurable learning objectives, and collaborating with technical subject matter experts.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or similar.
• Strong presentation, public speaking, facilitation, interpersonal, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to engage diverse audiences, encourage participation, adapt instruction to learner needs, and simplify complex technical concepts.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Access to export-controlled information may require compliance with U.S. Government security clearance, citizenship, authorization, and other applicable eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Training development experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or another technical environment.
• Experience with 360Learning, Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, or similar authoring tools.
• Familiarity with competency-based training, qualification management, hands-on technical training, practical demonstrations, and performance-based assessments.
• Experience developing train-the-trainer programs, coaching internal instructors, technical documentation, process-based training, or process documentation.
• Knowledge of AS9100, OSHA, ISO, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience facilitating training for adult learners with varying levels of technical experience and using multimedia tools for video editing and graphic design.
