Grad Intern – R&D Translational Immunology (Summer 2027)

Location: On site in South San Francisco, California, United States; students must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Base pay: $35.34–$41.20 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and implement mechanism-based in vitro New Approach Methodologies to evaluate hematotoxicities and contribute to assay design through literature reviews.
• Maintain, differentiate, and analyze primary immune cell types in 2D and 3D cultures.
• Apply multiparametric flow cytometry and ELISA, MSD, and Luminex techniques to assess toxicities.
• Present research findings to the broader Translational Safety and Risk Sciences team.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must currently be enrolled in an MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or Ph.D. program at an accredited college or university and complete the first year of the relevant program before the internship starts.
• Must be available to work full time.
• Must remain enrolled in an accredited college or university after the internship or co-op.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

Nice to have

• Degree concentration in immunology, cell biology, oncology, or toxicology.
• Strong foundational training in immunology, with demonstrated expertise in cellular immunology, primary cell culture techniques, and flow cytometry.
• Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D primary cell culture and microscopic evaluation.
• Ability to contribute to project design and solve complex scientific challenges.
