2027 Summer Intern Translational Models Research (AI)

Location: Cambridge, MA; must relocate to the office location and work onsite 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for the full 10–12 week internship.

Salary: $29–35 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Conduct translational research with in vitro and in vivo disease models to investigate human disease biology and therapeutic mechanisms of action.
• Use advanced imaging technologies, histopathology tools, and AI-based image analysis systems to generate and interpret data for drug discovery programs.
• Participate in experimental design, data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings to project teams.
• Collaborate with pathologists, imaging scientists, biologists, and data scientists on translational research objectives.
• Maintain laboratory records in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and regulatory standards.
• Support translation of preclinical findings into clinical development strategies and contribute to scientific discussions and training.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pathology, Pharmacology, Imaging Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. Students on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT generally do not qualify unless eligible for an alternative long-term status without company sponsorship.
• Must remain enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the internship.
• Prior laboratory research experience through coursework, academic research projects, or previous internships.
• Demonstrated interest in translational research and drug discovery.
• Strong foundation in biological sciences, including understanding of disease biology and/or pharmacology principles.
• Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with standard research techniques.

Nice to have

• Experience with histology, IHC, microscopy, confocal or multiplex imaging, and in vivo research.
• Experience with image analysis software or AI/ML applications in biology.
• Knowledge of translational medicine, a strong academic record, and pharma or biotech experience.
• Fast learning, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently.
