Software Engineering Leader (Retail Sales and Payments)

Location: Malmö, Sweden. The team considers presence with the team and working the majority of the time in the workplace important.

What you will do

• Lead engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle, from solution design and architecture through implementation, deployment, rollout, and continuous improvement.
• Align engineering work across teams, identify synergies, and drive reusable engineering practices across the Sales and Payment product area.
• Govern product architecture, design and refactor systems, and align solutions with enterprise guidelines for modularity, scalability, integration, resiliency, performance, and reusability.
• Own technical initiatives, priorities, roadmaps, and architecture evolution to improve delivery velocity, system performance, reliability, and engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with Technology Leaders, Software Engineering Managers, Enterprise Architects, Product Software Engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Promote engineering and security best practices, onboard engineers, and evaluate practices for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Formal qualifications in computer science or a related engineering field.
• At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including strong expertise in the assigned technology stack.
• Experience governing digital product architecture for individual products and across a product area.
• Ability to lead individual engineers, multiple engineering teams, and development initiatives in app or web development.
• Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles, practices, and industry-standard toolsets, with deep expertise in the assigned technology domain and related platforms, products, and services.
• Experience with architecture frameworks and concepts such as TOGAF or similar.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers and senior stakeholders.
• Comfort working across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design through deployment and support.
• Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, testing, release management, APIs, Azure services, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Representing technology externally in the market or at industry forums.
• Experience working effectively in large-scale, global product organisations.
