Staff Engineer (Logistics)

What you will do

• Set technical strategy and architecture across multiple Operations teams, balancing scalability, stability, and delivery speed.
• Design solutions for forecasting parcel volumes, optimizing terminal throughput, and routing thousands of drivers in real time.
• Identify and remove technical friction by improving testing environments and deployment speed.
• Translate business requirements into evolvable technical designs and connect engineering decisions to logistics network performance.
• Mentor senior engineers, promote learning from failure, and foster cross-team collaboration.
• Partner with Data and Product teams to ensure systems generate high-quality insights for company-wide decisions.

Requirements

• Background in mathematics, forecasting, or machine learning combined with experience building robust, production-grade software systems.
• Broad experience with distributed systems and confidence navigating detailed technical discussions and architectural trade-offs.
• Ability to balance pragmatic iterative delivery with long-term technical quality.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across engineering, product, and business functions.
• High standards for system stability and security while maintaining delivery speed.
• Comfort working across software engineering and data science.
