Engineering Manager (AI/Platform)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; must already have the right to work and reside in Sweden and work office-first from the Stockholm office four days a week. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available.

What you will do

• Lead one or more Engineering Platform teams, including coaching and developing senior engineers.
• Set direction, priorities, and working conditions that enable teams to succeed.
• Work with engineering teams across hirify.global to identify platform friction and decide what to build next.
• Balance experimentation with reliability when AI agents interact with systems that have real permissions and production consequences.
• Act as a technical sparring partner on architecture and platform decisions.
• Help shape the organization of Engineering Platform as it develops.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering teams with people responsibility.
• Background in platform engineering, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Experience treating internal platforms as products, with engineers as users.
• Strong technical foundation and the ability to discuss architecture, infrastructure, and trade-offs with experienced engineers.
• Genuine interest in AI and agentic development in software engineering, ideally including use of coding agents.
• Ability to create structure where it is missing without detailed control.
• Experience building teams over time, not only running existing teams.
• Clear communication and ability to build trust with engineers and leaders.
• Comfort working in an area where priorities and structure are still evolving.

• Experience using coding agents in personal software development work.
