Business Systems Analyst FCC

Location: 100% remote within Canada; current work authorization for Canada is required. Office locations include Toronto, Mississauga, and Vancouver.

Total annual cash compensation, including base salary and target bonus: $99,000–$135,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Elicit, analyze, and document API and integration requirements with business teams and subject matter experts.
• Define API specifications, including request and response structures, payload formats, system interactions, and data mappings.
• Support API design and lifecycle management in alignment with Digital Client Onboarding platform standards and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, application teams, vendors, QA, product owners, and business analysts to identify solutions.
• Ensure API implementations meet Operations and Compliance requirements.
• Improve or eliminate ineffective processes to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• More than 3 years of experience as a business systems analyst in the brokerage securities industry or financial services, with strong business and/or IT knowledge.
• University degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience gathering requirements, developing use cases, eliciting information from diverse stakeholders, and producing technical documentation.
• Experience with API integration; familiarity with SoapUI, Postman, and XSD.
• Experience working in an Agile environment on a self-managed team.
• Strong understanding of financial products, trading products, processes, and workflows within the Canadian financial services industry.
• Experience working with or strong knowledge of front-office trading desks, traders, and related stakeholders.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and technical walkthrough skills.
• Technical knowledge of SQL, databases, data modeling, database design, system architecture, SDLC methodologies, data analysis, cloud services, and cybersecurity risk management; familiarity with Python or Java and visualization tools such as Tableau.
