Financial Lines Underwriter

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal business to support profitable growth in professional indemnity.
• Assess risk desirability through broker contact, claims-history reviews, financial analysis, and coordination with subject-matter experts.
• Provide brokers with consistent, timely, and proactive underwriting service.
• Generate new business by expanding the broker network, attending broker events, and building market relationships in line with a manager-established sales plan.
• Prepare accurate monthly management information covering submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

Requirements

• Some underwriting experience is preferred; candidates with other professional experience are also welcome to apply.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented behavior, including motivation, tenacity, focus, technical skill, proactivity, and accountability.
