Manager, Customer Identity, Security Engineering (AI)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid

Annual base salary for candidates located in Ireland: €101,000–€138,600 EUR.

What you will do

• Hire, lead, coach, and develop a globally distributed team of Senior through Staff security engineers.
• Set and execute a multi-quarter roadmap aligned with Customer Identity and company-wide security strategy.
• Lead the design and delivery of an internal AI gateway for agent, MCP, and LLM access, including authentication, authorization, policy enforcement, guardrails, auditing, and observability.
• Remain hands-on with architecture, prototypes, code, and security tooling while setting the engineering bar.
• Run AI security reviews covering intake, threat modeling, architecture and design review, and remediation guidance.
• Turn recurring findings into reusable secure-by-default controls, libraries, and patterns while communicating risks and trade-offs to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years managing security or software engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining engineers.
• 8+ years in security engineering, with a foundation in cloud infrastructure and/or product security.
• Hands-on development experience with Golang and Node.js, including designing and building microservices, evaluating prototypes, and contributing code to security tooling and the AI gateway.
• Hands-on AI/ML security experience, including attacking, defending, or both, with interest in building controls rather than only assessing risk.
• Experience with product or application security reviews, threat modeling, and architecture/design reviews, ideally for AI/LLM systems.
• Working knowledge of the AI agent and MCP ecosystem, plus secure API or gateway/proxy infrastructure covering authentication, authorization, policy enforcement, rate limiting, and auditing.
• Working knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure security or Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP standards and frameworks, including the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, secure coding, and secure software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience setting technical vision, defining multi-quarter strategy, achieving architectural consensus, influencing cross-organizational initiatives, communicating technical findings clearly, and leading remote teams across multiple time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience building or leading production AI/LLM gateways, proxies, guardrail platforms, AI/ML security tooling, or defensive automation.
• Published security research, CVEs, or conference talks in AI/ML security or identity security.
• Experience with adversarial ML, model red-teaming, AI safety research, identity and access management, workload or agent identity, full-stack engineering, site reliability engineering, or governance, risk and compliance.
