Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering (AI)

Location: Ireland, Dublin; Flex hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Base salary: €110,400–€165,600 per year in Ireland

What you will do

• Lead the Forward Intelligence organization across developer experience tooling, continuous evaluation infrastructure, and applied/field engineering.
• Manage technical leads and senior engineers across DevEx & Pipeline, AI Evaluation, and Applied Engineering.
• Set engineering standards for skill authoring, prompt architecture, API integration, and schema compliance.
• Establish evaluation-driven development using benchmark datasets, LLM-as-a-Judge scoring, trajectory analysis, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Own production telemetry and drift-analysis escalations, feeding failures and regressions back into evaluation suites and authoring standards.
• Partner with business-unit leaders and senior consultants on skill coverage, prioritization, enablement, hiring, retention, and career growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading and developing software engineering teams.
• 10+ years of total professional software engineering experience, including sufficient depth across developer experience, evaluation, and field deployment disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of exposure to generative AI, LLM-based systems, or agentic architectures.
• Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills for working with non-technical domain experts and translating requirements into technical specifications.
• Experience building and growing a multi-pillar engineering organization, including Senior-level IC leveling decisions.
• Experience partnering with business leaders, senior consultants, and executive stakeholders to create engineering roadmaps from ambiguous needs.
• Working fluency across developer tooling, CI/CD evaluation pipelines, and AI systems.
• Experience mentoring Senior engineers toward technical leadership and building a bench for future Staff/Principal promotions.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and agentic specifications such as Model Context Protocol/MCP.
• Ability to refactor complex domain scripts or unstructured documentation into modular, testable, production-ready code; write unit and integration tests, mock API dependencies, and debug schema mismatches.
• Ability to ramp up quickly on new business domains and deliver capabilities through rapid iteration cycles.
